OMG i tried every kind of embedding code and pasting possibility on my – think weaker and (not my)”self”-hosted – wordpress based blog.
Then, finally, the ONLY working solution for me was the following:

    1. switching to HTML tab instead of Visual
    2. copypaste the normal y-link, which one is in the browser line, e.g. …/watch?v=yMrleQaHD64, without any kind of codes, neither in blog, nor from y’s embedded ones.
    3. save the entry

    :D, thx

This video is very outdated. The current method is to simply copy the URL from the browser address bar (or use the URL from the Share feature of YT) and paste it directly into your post editor in WP. No need embedding code, WP takes care of that for you. Just make sure your URL is a plain black line of text (not a clickable link), it’s alone on its line with no spaces at either end.

    — I go to ‘Appearance’ then ‘Widget’ … what widget do you suggest I use? I tried a HTML widget but it only added the URL word for word on the sidebar of my blog. ?? (Thanks in advance! 🙂

WP changed the way you can post so if you create videos and up it on YouTube, simply go to Share > Embed > Copy the iframe codes > Go to Add new post of your WP > then be sure you are at the HTML editor and paste the iframe codes. That’s it. Pretty simple. And if you are into making YouTube videos, use Ezvid to create fast and easy videos for YouTube. I highly recommend it. just Google search for Ezvid
