Steps to Building a Mailing List

All successful webmasters are always talking about how valuable a mailing list is, but most of them neglect to teach everyone how to build a mailing list. Nowadays you can choose between both free and paid services to build your mailing list, and I’ll leave it up to you to choose your mailing list software. You will need one though so make sure you pick one and get familiar with it so you know what you’re doing. A mailing list is great to have because then you can email them all at once with promotions, specials and anything else you want to as long as it isn’t spam. If you have a big enough mailing lists then you can make thousands of dollars off each email that you send out. You generally send out an email to promote a product to sell as this is how you’ll make money. One key thing to remember is not to email your list to often as then they’ll unsubscribe and you’ll lose potential profit.

Once you have chosen your mailing list software you need to set-up a form on your website so that people can join your list. You’ll want to mention what you’ll offer in your newsletter emails so that people will want to join it. You can also offer a free report or eBook to people so that there more likely to join the mailing list. Many websites out there focus on just list building and there simply one page websites that giveaway something free in order for an email and name. You can do this on your website by creating a new page and setting up a little article for people to read. I find that you should always try offering something for free in exchange for the reader to join your mailing list as most people need a reason to join anything these days.

After you’ve set-up your subscriber page with the free gift and mailing list form then you now need to promote this page and build some links for it. Of course your website traffic should be able to clearly see on every page that you have a free gift offer in exchange for there email. The more noticeable the better as you want your readers to know it’s there. Apart from your website visitors you should also submit the new page to social bookmarking websites. This brings in a lot of traffic and since you’re offering something free many of them will submit there email for the freebie. You can also submit articles to article directories and in the resource box make sure you notify people that they can receive a free gift by going to your page and submitting there email.

Having a mailing list is so important to earn revenue online nowadays that I recommend everyone begin working on there mailing list immediately. Even if you don’t have much traffic right now that’s alright as you can still build your list slowly. You don’t need to send out emails until you reach at least one hundred subscribers though as you want to make it worth your while. If you wait though then you’re just throwing away potential people who would sign-up for your list and you can’t afford to do this. I suggest you get a mailing list software program as soon as possible and begin building your future.

Why should you use plugins for WordPress?
The default WordPress comes with only basic features. Thus to make your blogs more colourful and attractive, there is a large variety of plugins available to suit what you want and your taste. These plugins will not only enhance your experience as the owner and the blogger, but also to make it more pleasant for the readers to read your blogs, leave comments or to link to your blog site.
Some of the useful plugins for WordPress users are listed as below. One of the useful plugin is WP Cache. This plugin works by caching WordPress pages and storing them in a static file for future use. It is very useful especially if you have a site with low performance server or high traffic. Instead of loading and compiling the whole PHP code before building a page from the database, WP Cache will use the files stored in the static file when needed to save more time.
For those who are selling things on their blog sites, WP eCommerce is an useful plugin. It is easy to use and you can setup the shop within a few minutes through the Admin panels. It is a shopping cart plugin for WordPress users who are selling products or services on their blog sites. There is a wide range of setting for your product or service such as downloadable products, promotions, coupon codes or product variations.
Intouch Ajax contact form is another plugin for WordPress blogs. This contact form has been known to be useful and it filters all spams. Apart from filtering all spam messages, it has the option where you can customize the email subject, addition of form fields and thank you messages. It allows you to insert a custom-made contact form and the information will be sent via email.
Ajax Post Rating plugin adds a 5-star Ajax rating system to your pages and posts. It allows readers to rate your pages and posts either daily, weekly or monthly. Another similar plugin is Ajax Polls. This plugin is very flexible with lots of features. Other option available for this plugin is it allows you to archive the polls and the layout is customizable via Admin panels.
Another useful plugin is Ajax Comment plugin. It is a simple but effective comment plugin as it checks whether all fields are filled correctly, makes sure that there is no duplication of comments and it has flood protection capability too.
Digg This is another WordPress plugin which detects incoming links from Digg.com website to your WordPress posts. It will then automatically display a link to the post from Digg.com so that people will be able to digg your story. An email will be sent to the admin of the site once a dig is recognized.

Being fairly new to blogging has been a real learning experience, not so much writing articles and sending them out to all my social sites, but in trying to optimize the WordPress site so that it’s hitting on all eight cylinders, so to speak. As I read other bloggers articles I pick up bits and pieces of what they have experienced so far, and I’ve decided that having the right WordPress plugins working for you can make life a lot easier. I’ve got a list of 11 plugins, that I’m going to recommend and hopefully shorten your learning curve, and make your blogging a more enjoyable experience.

No 1. Do Follow…This removes the evil nofollow attribute that WordPress adds in comments. You need this to keep visitors coming back for more.

No 2. AddThis Social Bookmarking Widget…Help your visitors promote your site! The widget allows any visitor to bookmark your site easily with many popular services.

No 3. All in One SEO Pack-Pro Version…It’s setup and ready to go right out of the box. It will optimize your site for search engine rankings, plus shorten your url’s by adding a number at the end, versus having a url that winds up being a mile long.

No 4. CommentLuv….Plugin to show a link to the last post from the commenters blog by parsing the feed at their given URL when they leave a comment. It’s rewards your readers and encourages them to return and make more comments.

No 5. Commissions Automator…..This plugin is really needed but if you’re interested in making money on line, it’s helpful. It automatically post instant commission promotions to your blog, with your affiliate ID included, so when someone buys the product, you get the commission. Sweet!

No 6. FD Feedburner Plugin….Redirects all feeds to a Feedburner feed which then sends your blog post out across the entire internet.

No 8. PostSwapper.com Plugin…..You can swap links with other bloggers to posts that are related to yours. Build link popularity automatically and easily. Backlinks are one item that is considered when webcrawlers and search engines are looking at ranking your site.

No 11….What Would Seth Godin Do….This plugin allows you to display a custom welcome message to a new visitor and a different custom message to a returning visitor. Pretty neat. People like to be treated special so what better way to do that.

To find more information about the plugins just do a Google search, download the plugin into a temp directory and then go to plugins in your WordPress blog, click new and upload the zip file and then install. Pretty simple process and now you have an optimized blog that should bring you hundreds of visitors thanks to your new WordPress plugins.

If you are thinking of making money by blogging, then you should be with a lot of blogs. With just one or two blogs, you won’t be getting anywhere near to even $ 100 per month. But before you think about making money this way, you should be having experience running at least a single blog in the past. If you are already having a blog of your own, then it’s okay. Otherwise start with one blog, and keep blogging for at least a month, before you follow what we are gonna mention here.

It’s better to start with 20 blogs. These 20 blogs should be about different niches. Articles should be posted in these blogs on a daily basis. If you are good at blogging, then it’s better to post an article in each of the 20 blogs on your own. This way, after a month you’ll be with 30 posts in each of the 20 blogs. And if these blogs are with decent traffic, then you would be able to sell links in them. On an average you’ll be getting at least $ 10 per month from a blog. So, from 20 blogs you’ll be getting $200. If you sell, like 10 links in each of the blogs, then you’ll be getting like $50 from a blog. And if that’s the case, your monthly earnings from the 20 blogs will be around $ 1000.

One thing to remember before creating blogs is that – the domain names should be good ones. It can help you in getting higher page ranks for your blogs. A high PR blog will help you earn more money online, per month, than a lower one. You should also do a lot of promotions to your blogs. Getting backlinks can do miracles to your blogs. So, go for it, if you think you’ll be able to do it on your own. Otherwise hire someone to do it for you.

And if you are putting adsense, in the blogs, then your earnings will be even more than what we have mentioned above. After you continue with such a plan for about 3-4 months, you’ll be with the money to hire workers to do all these things. From then on things will be pretty automated – and you can concentrate just on earning more and more money out of the blogs – without doing all those time consuming works.
