Despite what some people may say there are plenty of opportunities for people too make money online without ever having to own a website. There are of course more opportunities if you own your own website, but if you don’t want to have to worry about hosting and domain costs then you can still do some things to make an online income. Thousands of people currently make thousands per month on the internet and none of them own a website, and we’re going to take a look at three things you could do to join this group of people.

Offer a service or product

If you have a service or product then you can make a lot money selling either on forums. For instance if you can write or design websites then you can use webmaster forums to find clients for your services. If you own a book then you can sell your product on classified websites and also forums. You may generate more sales if you own a website, but it’s not at all necessary if you don’t want to. Typically you’ll have more luck earning steady income offering a service rather then selling a product, but it also requires that you have a strong work ethic.

Complete online surveys

I’ve seen countless websites that pay people to complete online surveys for money and you could earn yourself a decent part-time income completing this type of work. Some of the websites are scams and you should avoid any website that asks for money. There are plenty of websites that don’t ask for money though and these are the legit services. Many people currently are making a couple hundred extra bucks a month through services such as this and it’s a great income to add to your arsenal. It’s very relaxing to complete surveys and you make money doing it so there is no reason not to really.

Sell on Ebay

The biggest money maker for people without websites is by far Ebay and you could earn an unlimited amount of money on this website depending on how hard you work. You can sell basically anything on Ebay so as long as you’re turning a profit then it’s a good product to sell on Ebay. Don’t just jump into Ebay and start trying to sell any item as it won’t earn you much. You need to research the market and see what’s becoming more popular and has little competition. Many products have lots of competition so you don’t want to try selling these when you’re starting out. Look for low competition items that will turn you a profit and work on establishing sales for those.

As you can see there are plenty of ways for you to make money online without a website, and the other thing in common between the three is that to succeed you’ll need to work hard. There is no easy road for people who work online and despite the stories you hear on the television you’ll be required to work long hard hours if you plan on making a living from the internet.

Webmasters need to use every marketing method that they can take advantage of and without using all the methods out there you’ll fall behind your competition quickly. There are plenty of marketing techniques out there that you need to use, and in this article we’re going to talk about the power of forum and message board marketing. You’ve might of already used these techniques in your marketing arsenal and if you have then that’s great, but if you haven’t or you rarely use this technique then you should consider using it more.

There is always at least one forum on every topic and many topics have hundreds of different forums available to them. You should gather a list of the forums in your niche and then join them all. You will need to make some posts on them all and get active in the community. On the forums you’ll be able to add a signature line which will appear at the end of all of your posts. You can use this line to add your website link so that you can get direct clicks and also backlinks. Forum backlinks can build quickly and add a lot of value to your current links. Some forums will require that you make a certain amount of posts before your signature line appears, don’t worry about this though and just patiently wait until you reach the amount of posts. Don’t go spam the boards as you’ll likely be banned for doing so.

For message board marketing you may have to add your link at the end of each of your posts, so make sure that you do so if it is required. There is no point helping out others on message boards unless you’re getting the backlink so be sure that you do in fact get a link for each post. Some popular message boards are the Yahoo message boards which covers basically every niche that you could imagine. You simply help people answer their questions and then you post your link under your answer. This will help you get traffic as these message boards are always busy and get great search engine rankings.

A lot of forums and message boards don’t allow do-follow backlinks which means your links won’t count in the search engines. You should try finding some that are do-follow so that you do in fact gain some backlinks from your hard work, but for popular boards with lots of traffic it isn’t so important. For instance the Yahoo message boards will allow you to post a link but it isn’t do-follow. I still recommend using this board though because it’s one of the busiest and on the internet and can bring in great targeted traffic for the lifetime of your website.

Don’t spam the boards or forums though as you’ll get banned and it will also look unnatural to the search engines if you get a couple hundred links one day and none the next. You should aim for the same amount of posts everyday and split them between the forums and boards you use. This way you’ll be able to not look suspicious to the search engines and they won’t penalize you for unnatural link building which trust me happens and isn’t pretty for that website owner.

The debate rages among bloggers surrounding what are must-have plugins for WordPress. Naturally, everyone has their personal preferences that depend on what they are trying to accomplish by blogging. But I was rather horrified to read a forum post discussing WordPress plugins stating that all you need in the way of plugins, “if you have good content”, were All in One SEO Pack Google XML Sitemaps and StatPress. Now, these are great plugins and I use them all on everyone of my sites. But to say that these three are all you need, regardless of not whether your content is good, bad or mediocre, is, well, just wrong. If you want to increase your on page SEO; decrease your page load time (a key factor for ranking in Google with their latest algorithm change); hide your affiliate links and find and remove lines of code or text quickly and easily and more you need a few more plugins in your arsenal.
