Using WordPress Plug-Ins to Increase Affiliate Sales

There are quite a few new plug-ins out there for WordPress which are specifically designed for affiliate marketers and assisting them in increasing there revenues. There are plug-ins which you can purchase that will input datafeeds from different affiliates such as Ebay and Commission Junction. The datafeeds are usually made up of all the products that each affiliate has to offer. When you set-up the datafeed it automatically uploads the products picture, title and description into your blog.

It would take you literally weeks or months in order to input the same data that these wordpress plug-ins can do in minutes. The thought of creating a product page for thousands of products has never even crossed my mind and I don’t think I’d ever consider doing it myself. On the other hand I don’t mind spending $100-$200 on a WordPress plug-in that will save me months of work.

You need to spend money in most cases to make money online. There are opportunities to make money online without spending a penny, but you’re limited in what you can do. Imagine for instance you own a golf blog and you currently only make $5/day from Adsense. If you implement a datafeed from one of Commission Junctions golf affiliate stores then you would be able to offer your visitors thousands of gold products. Over time you could become a full-fledged e-commerce store that sells popular golf supplies to your blog visitors.

Typically you’ll get commission anywhere from 5-15% on your sales which is a lot more then you make using Adsense. Affiliates always make more then people who use Adsense and it’s where the money is at for webmasters. The problem is most people don’t know how to get involved or start selling products, and therefore they limit themselves to there Adsense money.

Even if you have dabbled with affiliate marketing then you know how hard it can be to try and set-up product pages. It’s easy to set-up the first few, but then it becomes repetitive and usually the job goes unfinished for weeks. By using a datafeed importer plug-in you will spend minutes uploading entire stores to your wordpress blog.

Each of the different plug-ins out there is different in appearance, but for the most part they have the same features and are the same price. You’ll want to do a bit of research on the different products out there that do this and choose the one that you think is most attractive. Remember the theme doesn’t matter as you’ll be using your own wordpress theme, but the way the auctions appear is important unless you know some coding to customize it. If you don’t know any coding though then you’ll need to make sure that you buy a plug-in that is attractive enough for you.

Thousands of affiliates already are using datafeeds in there websites and most of them have mentioned increases in there revenues. The bloggers who don’t promote and market there blogs won’t be very successful, but if you do then I guarantee you make more money utilizing a datafeed importer wordpress plug-in. Allow it to do all of the work and you sit there and cash the checks.

There are countless methods and techniques that one can utilize to earn either a part-time or full-time income, and there are more people everyday striking riches on the internet. Like any other method of making money it definitely doesn’t come easy and you need to work hard in the first initial couple years to ensure you’re set-up for the future. Some of the ways you earn online are short-term quick means of cash and although these are great you should focus on the long-term sustainable income if you plan on working online full-time. Below are some of the methods you can use to earn an online income.

– Paid Surveys
– Selling Products/Services
– Affiliate Sales
– Advertising Sales

Generally these are the most common sought after methods of earning money online and cover basically any topic you could imagine. Paid surveys can be great for new webmasters looking to begin earning online, with surveys the money is slow but you’ll be able to get some income going and you’ll learn more about how the internet runs and how you can make money. I suggest you join a few survey networks as with only joining one you might not make sufficient funds. The more surveys you place yourself in front of the more chance you have of earning income. All surveys will pay you money, but there is definitely the need for doing a nice number of them to earn any substantial money.

For longer term income you can sell your own product or service, this can be done through your own website or through forums and social networking sites. There are countless amounts of people hiring freelancers from forums and social networking sites. If you want to earn an income through selling services and products then you’ll need to ensure you allow proper time to do so. It wouldn’t be honest to tell you that you can expect to earn hundreds of dollars a day from the get-go and generally this will never happen. With a product you need to set-up a website and then work on advertising it to your target audience and then hope you start triggering sales, which usually will happen in time but there are some products that never sell. If you’re offering a webmaster service then money can begin right away through forums, because there are always people looking for freelance webmasters to complete jobs.

If you don’t have your own product and you don’t think you could offer a service then you can do affiliate sales which is basically you selling someone else’s product for a commission. If you think you have sales talent and just are missing the product to sell then affiliate sales might work for you. You can also earn money through leads which is where you send people from your website to another website to sign-up for something free. Leads don’t pay nearly as well as sales but you can get your foot in the door with your affiliate network by setting up a few good lead offers on your site. You need to make sure that your product or lead that you offer on your site is targeted towards your audience or else don’t expect many sales.

The last method to earn money that we’ll be discussing in this article is advertising sales. There are different ways to earn through advertising sales which consist of either joining an ad network like Adsense and using their ads to earn money, or you can find people to advertise your site by yourself. You’ll obviously make more money by selling your own ads on your site but this can be time consuming and often you’ll end up making less due to open spots. I find a good medium is too use Adsense and then sell the odd link or banner on the site for some extra income. This is the best way to utilize advertising income, you just need to make sure that you don’t place too many sold links on your site because your site can be harmed by this, which isn’t what you’re trying to do.

All of these great methods that I’ve walked through with you above are wonderful ways to earn money and you should try them all out. Once you begin to get comfortable you’ll be able to utilize more then one of the methods above on everyone of your sites that you make. You’ll want to focus on one site in the beginning but once you feel you have conquered some of the techniques you need to know then you can begin branching out and making new sites. Millions of people earn money online everyday and it can be done by anyone at any age from any country. If you’re serious about making money online there are tons of resources on the internet that you can use to become more knowledgeable in the area. You should remember to start slow and not expect to even earn a dollar in the first few months. You need to establish your sites and methods of earning before the real money starts coming in, those with the patience will notice success before those who throw away all their projects.

Most bloggers who are blogging to make money already have some experience with affiliates most likely but for those of you who don’t an affiliate is simply someone who sells a product for someone and receives a commission. You can also get leads that pay money too and this can actually be easier in the beginning and I would recommend that if you’re new you work with getting leads rather then sales. People are more inclined to join something free then to buy something, especially off of a new blog which doesn’t have too much reputation so for the first while stick with leads. I actually wouldn’t even introduce affiliate sales or leads into your blog until at least one month after you begin it. Also it’s only one month if you post everyday if you post less frequently then give it a couple months before introducing affiliates. The last thing you want to do is bombard all your new readers with affiliate ads, instead you want to first build up a readership and then move forward with affiliate ads.

Once you’ve decided to start working with affiliates you need to decide how you’ll go about the task. Some people will make a separate page for affiliates and list them all on one page so that it’s somewhat tucked away and then only people interested in the offers will have to look through them. Other people will add banners or links into their sidebar pointing to the affiliate and then others will make a new blog post with the affiliate lead or product. I find that creating a new post for the product or lead is the best way to go about getting sales, because this way you can write a review of the product and let people know a bit about what there buying. You’ll notice you get more sales from the products and leads that you offer some guidance or knowledge on rather then just posting a banner or link.

When you’re placing links on your blog that point to affiliate URL’s you should use a cloaking plug-in so that you can make friendlier URL’s. A lot of people won’t click links if they know it’s an affiliate link and it’s easy to tell because most affiliate networks use there URL to forward you to the affiliate product. There are plug-ins for WordPress which make this simple though and a quick Google search will do the trick for finding the right plug-in. I’ve noticed on blogs where I cloak my affiliate links up to 30% more action on the links then when I simply use the affiliate link normally and when you’re dealing with money 30% is a fairly large percentage.

That’s about all you need to do in order to display your affiliate links properly so that you can maximize your profits and apart from that all you should be concerned about is making sure the affiliate banners and links you use on your blog fit in the blog. Meanings don’t promote a shoe affiliate on a hat blog, only choose affiliate leads or products that are directly involved with your niche. Also ensure you don’t overdo any affiliate ads because people will quickly become turned off from your blog if everything is an affiliate ad. You should use them sparsely throughout the blog posts to make sure you don’t come off as someone just trying to make a quick buck. People are far more inclined to buy something off of someone who has taught them stuff through the content on the blog, so make sure you continue writing solid content and mix in the affiliate ads as you go.

There are thousands upon thousands of niches you can work in and some of them are obviously more competitive then others which are why choosing your niche is important. Another important reason of choosing a good niche is that some niches just don’t have the potential too make money like some of the other niches out there. Today we’re going to look at some of the highest paying niches and how you can make money in those niches by blogging.

Health

The health niche is one of the most competitive niches on the internet and companies spend millions on promoting there websites on the internet in this niche. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to make some money in this niche though including pay-per-click ads, private ads and affiliate sales. You can make upwards of $1 per click on Adsense in this niche which is incredible as most niches pay $.10 or less per click. There is also a magnitude of products to sell in this niche and they usually range in the $100+ price range which allows room for high commission payments. If you can manage to build traffic in this niche then you stand an excellent chance at making some serious money in the health niche.

Finance

With the world’s economy lowering on a daily basis right now there is no better time to get into the financial market online. The competition is very stiff in this market and gaining a market share is nearly impossible, but in a billion dollar industry if you get a fraction of a percent of the market share then you’d be laughing. Commissions are amongst the highest out there in this niche as well as you can make money from credit card applications, payday loan applications and much more.

Adult

If you want to leave the mainstream industry and move into the adult industry then there is tons of money to be made. You can make blogs very quickly in this niche and content isn’t as important as the mainstream niches. You can get away with small blog posts and still make a nice income if you build links and traffic to your blog. Sponsors pay up to $100 per paying customer or you could also take a lifetime percentage per customer although $100 per person is usually more profitable and you get it at one time.

These three niches in my opinion offer the most opportunity for making a full-time income and if you can draw in the traffic then they’ll spend money. It’s proven that these three niches are amongst the top for people spending money in, which means that if you can achieve traffic you’ll usually make money. It needs to be targeted qualified traffic in order to make money, but if you want the best chance of succeeding online and don’t know where to start then I recommend starting with one of these niches. They are very competitive, but a lot of niches these days are so you need to find out how to better then your competitors.
