Basically, “”privately”” selling ad space means that you are selling advertising space on your WordPress blog. It doesn’t matter if these ads convert, as the advertisers pay you a flat fee to display their ad for a certain amount of time (most people who make money with WordPress generally sell ad space on a per month basis). All you need to do is email companies who advertise on other blogs asking them if they’d like space on your WordPress site as well. Voila! You’ve already started to make money with WordPress!

Advertising networks. If you have no idea how to make money with WordPress, these are a great start. Advertising networks are programs such as Google AdSense that pay you on a per-click or per-action basis. AdSense is by far the most popular, and you can receive anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars per click. You just need to display the ad code on your site.

Affiliate programs. These involve more work, but are an excellent way to make money with WordPress. Similar to advertising networks, affiliate programs pay you based on how well the ads convert (how many sales you make or how many leads you generate). Most people who make money with WordPress use Commission Junction, which is very easy to sign up for and offers a wide range of advertisers.

So, you have a WordPress blog. But instead of just working for the blog (writing in it, fiddling with the HTML codes to make it look good), you can also make it work for you. Did you know that your blog can bring in the big bucks? Well, now you do. The question is, how?
That question will now be addressed.
First things first. When I say that your blog can make money for you, I don’t mean the page where you self-publish whatever you like. No; plugins – also known as extensions – are what I’m talking about. Of course, the plugins have to be embedded in your WordPress page in order for them to be seen, and when they can be seen, only then can they work.
Now that we’ve cleared that up, let’s get to the most interesting part of this article – monetizing your WordPress.
One of the most common methods of monetizing your WordPress is by allowing advertisements on your site, for example: adding AdSense ads to your blog. AdSense is a Google-run advertisement application which you can apply to embed in your page. It generates an income for you – the page owner – on a per-click basis, which basically means that advertisers pay you based on the number of times that ad has been clicked on; or a per-impression basis, where they will pay you based on the amount of traffic you have on your site.
Another money-making method is to market services, products, etc, on your WordPress site by way of using a shopping cart plugin. This plugin allows you to sell things and receive payment through the internet! There are a few available shopping-cart plugins for example Jason R Brigg’s YAK for WordPress which would link your product to the code of your blog entry, making the entry’s code the product’s identification number. It also provides modifiable payment options such as cheque or credit card, or the types of PayPal one might like to utilise.
Speaking of PayPal, it is actually yet another way to make your WordPress (and your readers) become your source of income! However, this method might work better if your blog experiences high traffic, as it is the donation method. That’s right, you can make money off of your site if you add a PayPal plugin where your visitors may make donations either with their credit cards or by electronic debits from their bank accounts. There are many plugins which would enable you to add a PayPal Donate Button to your page. Easy PayPal WordPress Plugin and PayPal Donate WordPress Plugin are two such plugins.

One of the easiest ways to make money from websites is to sell ad space. You can sell ad blocks of different sizes at different places in your site. And depending on the size and place where you are planning to sell the ad blocks, the money you’ll be getting out of them will vary. Advertisers will look for buying ad blocks that will be getting maximum exposure. So, try to sell ad blocks at places in your sites, where chances of getting a click to the ad blocks is maximum.

But in order to sell ad blocks, your sites should be with decent traffic. Try referring your friends to the sites that you want to promote. And ask them to refer to their friends as well. But a vast amount of the visitors won’t be coming back again to your site – if its not worth a visit again. That means, your sites should be having something special in it for the readers. You may even find buyers ready to buy advertising on a long term basis. But in such cases, you’ll have to provide some discount on the price.

There are plenty of blog posting networks out there now and over the past couple years they have made people thousands of dollars. Blogging has become a great way for advertisers to advertise to a targeted market and many companies are taking advantage of this. Basically a blog posting network is a middle man between the blogger and the advertiser.

The network works on finding advertisers for their network marketplace and then as a blogger you can sign-up to the network and apply for jobs from the marketplace. There are some big networks out there already that offer quite a larger amount of advertising availabilities so you should be able to find some offers for your blog. Advertisers will post their needs in the marketplace and if your blog meets the requirements then you’ll be able to take on the job. Once you make the post, the network will confirm it’s been made and then in one month they will confirm that the post is still there and pay you for it. Most networks can pay you with either Paypal or a check. Before you can utilize blog posting networks you’ll need a blog with some traffic and preferably some page rank. If you have both of those then you won’t have a problem making a part-time income.

Most blog networks allow the advertiser to establish their own budgets for each blog post, so the price you get paid ranges from $3-$50 depending on how good your blog is. Many people have small personal blog networks that run solely off of these blog posting networks and make them a lot of money. If you have the time then the money can be made fairly easily, it just takes hard work and commitment. This is by far the most popular blog posting network out there and the busiest. There are always hundreds of opportunities and if your blog is good enough then you’ll be able to do a lot of them. They pay new members $20 to do an introduction post onto their blog, and then you get paid by the advertisers for each post you do. They pay on a monthly basis and the easiest and quickest way to get paid is through Paypal.

PayU2Blog – www.payu2blog.com

This network is coming along and they have quite a few offers. They simply email you when they have a job that fits your blog and then they pay you on a monthly basis. Many people have found this network be good for a couple months and then the offers die down, but you can easily make a few hundred dollars in a few months doing the offers that they do have.

Smorty – www.smorty.com

Smorty is a well established pay per post network and they have been around for awhile now and I don’t think you need to worry about them going anywhere. They have a knack for attracting advertisers and therefore also have some awesome blogs in their networks arsenal. Smorty always pays it’s bloggers on time and they offer decent compensation for your work.

ReviewMe – www.reviewme.com

ReviewMe is one of the biggest marketplaces and there are tons of offers in the marketplace. They have a strong foothold in the marketplace and a long list of bloggers ready to make money. They attract some of the highest paying advertisers in the blogging industry and therefore have tons of bloggers looking for opportunities from them. If you have a good blog then you can easily make a part-time income with this network.

SponsoredReview – www.sponsoredreview.com

This is the last network that is on this list and should be all you need. This network has some high paying opportunities and although they don’t have the biggest marketplace you get paid almost twice as much here on average. I recommend this network highly if you’re serious about writing sponsored blog posts.
