How to Build a Niche Site With a Blog

Building niche sites is all the rage these days.\r\n\r\nThe basic strategy is very easy. Find a niche market that is not oversaturated. Develop a list of related keywords people are searching on. Then write an article optimized for each one of your keywords. Once you have your articles, upload them to your site. Monitize your site with affiliate links and Adsense.\r\n\r\nFor this kind of niche site to be effective and make money, it is imperative that you get free traffic, and a lot of it. And that\’s exactly where a blog can be your ideal friend.\r\n\r\nAt its very simplest, a blog is just a structure. It\’s the bones of a web site. A blog is a simple way to publish and display your content on the web. Most of us think of blogs as a chronicle of news events, or commentary on news and items of interest. Or personal diaries.\r\n\r\nFew people stop to think that you can build any kind of website with a blog. In reality, a blog can be used very effectively to build a niche site. The fact of the matter is, a blog is the easiest way to publish your niche site content. But the biggest reason to use a blog is that it can drive traffic to your site a lot faster than a statically-built site. A niche site built with a blog is a very powerful strategy.\r\n\r\nFirst, select your niche and research your keywords. Write your first article based on one of those keywords, just as you would when building a regular site. Then set up your blog and publish that article. Your niche site is now live.\r\n\r\nTo make your site structure the most effective, be sure to choose a blog that grants the use of Categories, such as Word Press or Moveable Type. Use your 10 most important keywords as the name of your Categories. Then file all your secondary keyword articles under those Categories.\r\n\r\nWhy is this so important? If you keep building your site with keyword-rich articles, eventually you could have hundreds of pages. Each of those pages will have a link to your 10 Categories. And each of those links will use the anchor text of your most important keywords. As a result of all those internal keyword-rich links, your site will end up ranking very well in the search engines for your Category names.\r\n\r\nNow it\’s time to set up your traffic strategy. This is where a blog can really shine. There are many special RSS/blog directories that are hungry for feeds. By submitting your new blog to these directories, you can begin getting traffic nearly immediately. Quite often these feeds will result in a lot more traffic than all the major search engines combined. This is why it makes so much sense to build your niche site as a blog. You can have twice the traffic, and get it much faster than with a static site.\r\n\r\nHere is a list of some of the top RSS/blog directories you should submit your site to:\r\nhttp://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/\r\n\r\nOnce you\’ve submitted your site to the directories, you can get it indexed by Yahoo nearly immediately by adding your RSS feed to your MyYahoo page. If you do not have a MyYahoo page, just go to http://www.yahoo.com. Now click on the MyYahoo link at the top and set up your free account. Once you have your account set up, click on Add Content, then add the URL of your blog RSS feed into the Find Content box.\r\n\r\nWhen you go back to your MyYahoo page, your blog plus your first post should be shown. If you go look at your web stats for your site, you\’ll find that the Yahoo spider has already made a visit! Your new site should be indexed in Yahoo in just a couple of days. This is a strategy that some marketers were selling for $50 just a few months ago. And it works like a charm.\r\n\r\nEvery time you add a post, you can alert the RSS/blog directories by \”pinging\” them. There is a wonderful site at http://www.pingomatic.com that makes this very simple. You just have to type in your blog URL and Pingomatic will send your ping to Yahoo and about 15 other huge directories. That will bring the spiders back to your site almost immediately!\r\n\r\nDuring the first month, I would recommend that you write and add a new article every day. Blogs that are frequently updated get the most traffic. And you\’ll find that the major search engines will spider your site every day. At the end of a month, you will have a 30-article niche site that is already getting a lot of traffic. If you have monetized your site with Adsense and related affiliate programs, you should also be making money already.

Internet Marketing – Internet Marketing 001

Let me state right off, that I\’m not a marketing \’guru\’. In fact, I\’m not sure what a \’guru\’ is other than it sounds like a large hairy beast. Come to think of it, I guess I am a \’guru\’.

But back to the issue, when you first go on the web and begin checking out some sites, possibly some affiliate programs, most will state \’we have an automated marketing system that will do 99.5% of the work for you\’. Really? Then what do you need me for? Hmmm. What usually happens is you\’ll start marketing the same site that 10,000 other people are marketing on the Click or Hit Exchanges, Safelists, FFA Blasters, Auto-surf site, email-blasters, etc. etc.

From what I have experienced it seems that many people who have had some level of success with these types of programs, have created their own system or way of marketing the program that works great, but usually by the time you get around to using it again another 10,000 or so people are using it and it\’s power is diluted.

Another key factor is that many of the people who are successful have massive lists that they can market to which sort of guarantee\’s some degree of success. I am not knocking them in fact they have usually spent a good bit of time and money building these in-house lists.

The point is many of the programs make it seem as simple as breathing to be a success at Internet Marketing and they tend to fail to mention the talent, hard work, determination, and all the other factors that make someone successful at Internet Marketing. I wish it might be that easy, so then maybe I could be a \’guru\’.

Internet Marketing – An Internet Marketing Strategy That Is Sometimes Overlooked

Wow — you finally have your website finished! Now comes the flurry of activities for getting it noticed on the Internet. You\’ll be submitting to the search engines. You might be blogging. You might be submitting to the directories. And you may be promoting through articles, amongst other things. World wide web marketing is a lot of work that involves patience and persistence. The results are not always seen immediately.

But there\’s one method of Internet marketing that is often overlooked and your SEO expert might not tell you about it. Chances are, you may see immediate traffic by using this strategy. Why is it overlooked? It might be because this marketing method is not directly related to the Internet.

The method is marketing your site offline. The old, tried and true offline marketing strategies can often deliver many targeted visitors to your website in a short amount of time, particularly if you are announcing your URL to people with whom you already do business. The beauty of offline marketing is that it is easy. You do not have to spend hours and hours finding link partners, writing articles or submitting your URL.

The most basic form of offline marketing is to include your URL on your business cards, on your letterhead, on your fax forms, and on your printed fliers. If you use any printed business forms, including sales receipts or estimates, be sure to include your website address.

If you give press releases, be sure to include your business URL in the contact information. That way, people who are reading your press release can easily find your on the web presence to learn more about your expertise, services and products. If these readers have taken the time to look at your website because of the press release, you are attracting a highly targeted and responsive audience.

Promotional gifts such as coffee mugs, calendars, t-shirts, hats, key chains or other items, are an excellent form of offline World wide web marketing. If someone is drinking coffee from your promotional mug every day, he is going to be seeing your URL each single sip! If you mail Christmas or holiday cards to your clientele, be sure to include your web address.

You may have a customer list that is responsive to catalogs or newsletters that you periodically mail. Announce your URL in your mailing, along with a special promotion code or number that will give your loyal subscribers discounts for on the internet sales.

If you have an ad in the yellow pages of your local phone directory, be sure to include your website address with your company information. Other forms of printed advertising, such as magazines or newspaper ads, should also include the web address. Of course, if you advertise with billboards, there is another opportunity for offline website announcements.

Provided that your domain name is one that people can remember, include it in your television or radio ads. Long and complicated domain names do not work too well in this method of offline advertising.

Do you affix labels or tags to your products? Or require your employees to wear uniforms? This is another opportunity to add your URL to your offline signage. Add the URL to all printed labels and uniform logos. If you drive a company vehicle or have a fleet of automobiles, you might want to include the company\’s URL in your automobile signage. The possibilities for announcing your site offline are endless.

Wherever your company name is printed or announced in the \”physical world,\” be sure to include your URL. Since many of these offline methods involve customers or clients who have a working relationship with your business, this might be your most targeted and responsive Internet audience.

People like to learn more about your company by browsing your website. By marketing offline, you will attract people who are already interested in your company and what you have to offer. This is an invaluable component to Internet marketing.

Internet Marketing – Best Internet Marketing Strategies- Part II

In Part I of \”Best Internet Marketing Strategies\”, I described some basic guidelines for creating an effective Internet marketing strategy for product and service based business models. In this column, I would like to analyze on the internet affiliate marketing and how one can compete in the sea of affiliate arbitrageurs.

What is on the internet affiliate marketing? On the web affiliate marketing, for the purpose of this writing, describes the act of marketing a product or service that is owned by someone else for the sole purpose of making a commission or some other satisfying equal benefit.

Generally talking, most successful affiliate strategies employ arbitrage as a model for monetary gain. That is purchasing one resource that can be immediately resold for a profit. You probably have come across some on the internet models such as these:

? Affiliate Networks- ClickBank or Commission Junction ? Lead Generation Networks- home, auto, medical, mortgage, etc. (www.insureme.com) ? Advertising Networks- Google\’s Adsense or Yahoo!\’s Advertising

Similar Strategies, Worlds Apart On the internet affiliate marketing strategies are very similar to traditional product and service strategies in that the basic fundamental marketing concepts apply. One still must consider variables such as: 1. Budget 2. Regionality of market 3. Target audience 4. Core competencies 5. Website (functionality, ease of use, and conversion friendliness)

The context however differs in that the \”action\” takes place on the affiliate or partnering Website. Therefore, the above variables must be invariably in sync with the value proposition of your affiliate and communicate joint benefits. The Website objective on the other hand, is to seamlessly transfer prospective buyers from the partnering site to the affiliate in a way that maximizes conversion behavior. In contrast, traditional on the internet strategies typically aim at keeping the visitor on the page and thus making the content sticky.

Benefits of Online Affiliate Marketing One of the major benefits affiliate marketing is lowered risk. Risk in this marketing model is shifted to the affiliate whom assumes risk for ultimately creating and maintaining the sale.

Another equally attractive benefit is that partnering site is exempt from carrying any Inventory and only must focus on on the internet marketing efforts.

Lastly, online affiliate marketing can be lucrative when successfully executed. For some Websites, this is the only source of revenue, which can even surpass the sites primary objective.

\”Work from home and earn $1000\’s while you sleep!\” Its simple money, so why doesn\’t everyone do it? Unfortunately, the Web is full of too many get rich quick programs that promise huge returns in exchange for little effort. You know…the American way! But in the sea of affiliates there do lie opportunities for those who are willing to work form them. However, affiliate marketing is not for everyone. Just like any other strategy, it requires a great deal of thought and resources to market successfully. If you\’re looking for the get swift riches, it\’s a die-hard game that\’s played best by the ones who wrote the book.

Affiliate strategies can also be difficult to execute given the amount of affiliates competing against one another. In addition, this increased competition inflates marketing costs associated to the advertising vehicles used to promote the affiliate. For example, if you plan on advertising via pay-per-click, keyword costs can be very high for generic terms thus pushing affiliates to purchase keywords that carry less competition. When many affiliates go to purchase the same keywords, this in effect inflates the keyword market. Worst of all, more money for the affiliating site means that keyword costs will continue to rise.

So how can I compete? If your going to compete in the affiliate world, there are two key factors that will equal success: 1. Quantity of quality targeted traffic that provides ROI 2. Solid on the internet objective in persuading visitors to click on your affiliate sites

The first factor relates to how relevant your audience perceives your value proposition in relation to what they are seeking. Quantity refers to the amount of targeted visitors you can attract that works to your ROI model. The most successful affiliate marketers can calculate their ROI attributed to their online marketing efforts on the micro level. Moreover, if the ROI is determined to be positive, the game swiftly turns into numbers.

The second factor relates to how well your Website can persuade visitors to click on affiliate links, which in turn means commissions. However, without executing the first key factor successfully, all the traffic in the world to your affiliate will not translate into the desired outcome. Here are some things to think about when optimizing your website for your affiliate strategy:

1. Website communicates similar value proposition of the affiliating site 2. Website clearly directs traffic off site to the affiliate 3. Advertisements and marketing efforts are in sync with the website objective 4. Website is resource oriented and not \”spammy\” 5. Website look and feel is in keeping with competitor sites

Summary Finding the ultimate online affiliate strategy can be challenging. After all, if it were easy, not only would everyone be doing it, they also would be making tons of money. I advocate that you first begin by examining the affiliate\’s chosen business model before diving in with both feet. What is their value proposition? How can you make use of that proposition, yet still be one-of-a-kind in the market place? (If your not, who would want to do business with you?) As I said earlier, affiliate marketing is not for everyone. However, you your strategy is solid, you might find yourself writing the book for others to follow.

Internet Marketing – 7 Internet Marketing Mistakes Which Are Destroying Your Business

7 World wide web Marketing Mistakes Which Are Destroying Your Business

By Terry Dean

Below are 7 Mistakes which you can constantly see many Internet businesses making over and over again. Each of these mistakes can easily cost your business thousands or tens of thousands of dollars yearly.

As a matter of fact, I see many internet businesses out there that have next to no chance of success because a couple of these problems are at the very heart of their business.

If your business is built on a weak foundation, there is no way it will be able to produce maximum income for you even if it does somehow survive.

Mistake #1: You have a short-sighted vision.

Do you have a long term plan for your business or are you just trying to make it through the month?

I know marketers who have a 1 year plan, 5 year plan, 10 year plan, and even a 50 year plan for their business…What does your plan consist of?

A lot of people are making fun of Amazon.com because of the fact that they lose an average of $3.00 per book that they sell. Do you realize though what their long term plan is?

Each single day they are using their massive financial backing to take up more and more of the book market share. They are quickly becoming the most well known bookstore on the earth…and every other bookstore is beginning to feel the pressure from them.

I am definitely not suggesting to you that you need to begin losing money to gain customers, because most of us small businesses just could not afford that tactic. What I am suggesting to you is what you learn the lifetime value of a customer.

It is 7 – 10 easier to sell a product to an existing customer than it is to sell to a new customer. How are you building the relationships with your current customers? Are you seeking out and finding new products that meet other needs and wants they might have? Are you treating your current customers as your most valuable asset in your business?

Mistake #2: You aren\’t willing to think outside the box.

For many world wide web marketers, they only see two types of advertising. Number 1 for them is free advertising such as free links, free classifieds, newsgroup participation, and more. Secondly, they see paid advertising such as banner ads, offline advertising, and paid links.

What about finding people in your business to endorse your products or services to their customers and splitting the profits? Jay Abraham and Mike Enlow both list this as the most powerful marketing tool in existence…do you even know about it?

Press releases can get traffic to your site nearly overnight if you have something that people want or need…have you worked with the media to get some Free traffic?

Have you considered setting up your own affiliate program? This is the quickest and easiest way to expand the sales of any successful product or business. Let other people start selling it for you!

Mistake #3: You have fallen in love with the wrong product.

Have you fallen in love with the wrong product? It is interesting to note that in the Direct Mail Bootcamp, where a Dozen Top Marketers gathered together to discuss the recipe for marketing success, one of the main reasons for failure that they all concurred upon was…falling in love with your product or service.

I comprehend that your product might be your baby, but you will have to be willing to give it up if it is not what the market wants. Each day the world market is changing and you have to be changing right alongside it. It may be that demand for your product is declining…if so, are you willing to give it up and find a product people want?

Begin asking some questions of your web site visitors or ezine readers. Ask them what it is that they want. What is it that they are looking for? You may find out that you have been barking up the wrong tree and trying to sell them something that they do not really want (Even if it is what they need).

You will go broke trying to sell people what they need…if it isn\’t what they want! The actual statistics are that only one out of every seven products turns out to be a winner. Go with the odds and be willing to change if your market WANTS something different.

Mistake #4: You don\’t have a Unique Web Position.

What makes your site different than everyone else\’s? Why should they visit you instead of somewhere else? Why should they buy from you instead of the competition?

If you cannot answer those questions in one swift sentence, then you do not have the type of UWP you need to succeed in today\’s worldwide business environment

Spend some time and visit the competition. What is it that you do superior than them? What is it that you offer different from them? For example, in the internet marketing sites out there, so many of them are only me-too sites. What are you going to do to make yourself different than the rest? Is it better prices, better services, free stuff, quicker results, etc.?

Mistake #5: You have not researched your market enough.

Do you know what it is that your market wants? Have you ever taken the time to go back to your customers and ask them why they bought from you in the first place? Have you spent time in discussion groups, mailing lists, and newsgroups to find out what problems people might be having or what they are looking for?

If you don\’t know why people buy from you, how can you target them correctly or write a sales letter that will hit their hot buttons? I will give you the answer to that one…you cannot do it.

Concept is more important than ad copy. Coming up with exactly the right concept (or angle) for your product will make OK ad copy sell like crazy. A poor concept could never be made profitable even by the best copywriters out there.

Mistake #6: You aren\’t dealing with people as individuals.

Don\’t speak to everyone…deal with individuals. I believe in automating as much of the sales process as possible, but there still comes the time that you have to deal with people like people. We run the numbers on our sales statistics, but people are not just numbers.

Always remember the human element. Those aren\’t just email addresses out there. They are real live individuals who have wants, needs, and desires just like you. Deal with them that way.

Be willing to help…Be willing to give away free information…Give away free samples…Be someone that people like.

Mistake #7: You give up too soon.

This almost goes without saying, but many individuals give up too soon. I have seen hundreds of individuals make some of the mistakes above on their sites, lose a tiny money, and then give up in disgust believing that the internet just doesn\’t work.

I am not just dealing with your entire business either. Sometimes people give up on advertising too soon. They don\’t test it enough. Instead of believing that a certain web site is not a good place to advertise or that a certain ezine doesn\’t bring in responses for you, did you try editing your ad first. I have seen ads double, triple, or even have as high as 10 times or more effectiveness on the same sites just by a couple of changes.

What do you do now that you know these 7 deadly internet sins?

Read through them…Take them to heart…Make changes in your business if needed. Don\’t just walk away from this and say, \”That was a pretty good article.\” Use it and let these tips help you in your business.

Then, email me about it. I want to know if this article helps you or if there is anything else I can do for you. Send an email to Terry@bizpromo.com anytime.

Internet Marketing – Pitfalls to Avoid as a Newbie in Internet Marketing – Managing Yourself: Email

Previously I wrote about the need to establish a budget (time and money), and then about the pressure of information overload when starting out in World wide web Marketing. This day I will look at the problem of having your life in chaos trying to keep track of all that you are trying to accomplish.

I would like to share with you a number of the techniques I used to help cope with the need to keep a momentum going and also the need to learn and absorb as much of the data that is coming down the pipe to you. I will break these down into separate articles as they apply to different aspects of your business.

The short story is that to be able to cope and not feel as if you are continually playing catch-up, is to be ORGANIZED. Yep, simple, is not it – NOT! Most of the time, as we go along on our way, there is \’stuff\’ that we leave to do later – this accumulates and by the end of the week there is a big pile of emails that still need replying to, articles that still need to be written or posted, the blog is out of date…..yadda, yadda, yadda. When it gets to this point, we feel as though we are overwhelmed and start to be less productive.

Here is the Silver Bullet! (I bet you thought that there were no Silver Bullets left)

STOP EVERYTHING! Yes, stop doing everything and MAKE yourself give over about 4 hours where you will not look at emails, web pages, answer phones etc. These 4 hours will be used to take a good look at how you are doing things and make a plan to get everything on track.

It is not a big deal – quite simple to start in fact. Go to the basic actions you do every day.

* EMAILS – this is probably one of the major time wasters and causes of getting behind – if you do not manage the system right. Firstly, make a rule that you will only read and act on (or download) emails 3 times a day – you figure the times, but restrict yourself to 15 minutes, three times a day. (Don\’t panic – you will be amazed at how much you will get through in a concentrated 15 minutes, besides you will be doing it 3 times – a whole 45 minutes of email time per day!!)

(Hopefully by now you will have set up your desktop email program to retrieve the emails from your various POP3 mailboxes and deposit them locally – big time saver – one click and all the mail comes whooshing in!!!)

Next, take some time to setup your email program so that it is semi-automated. The idea here is to create rules for incoming mails so that they do not all get into your primary inbox and cause a big mess that takes hours to sort through.

An simple way to do this is to identify the emails that you can group – from a specific sender, or a specific topic – whatever. Then set up a rule (check out your email program) that picks up the emails as soon as they come into your inbox and then moves them to the folder you have set up. Also, setup a rule that will delete emails that you would not normally bother with – this takes a bit of time to figure out, but maybe initially just move them into a PENDING folder and then scan it briefly and do a manual mass delete when satisfied there is nothing of importance.

What you are doing here is YOU are deciding what to read when. This way you are able to pop in at your intervals and browse a folder without getting bogged down in \’chaff\’. You are already on the way to grabbing back control.

Over the next few articles I will be tackling all of the various time-wasting activities that cause us to slow-down. Please drop a line to my email if there is something specific you feel could be written about.

If I can leave you with one thought for today: Tidy up your mind as well as your workspace. If everything is where you want it without having to scratch around, you will save minutes that add up to hours each week.

Internet Marketing – Set Up Your Mind for Success in Internet Marketing

The Secret is Finally Revealed

If you reed and apply the following information, you are on the way to change dramatically your Internet Marketing results and your life. You will find here the secret kept away from the general public for centuries.

Politicians, popes, leading scientists, kings and army leaders have been using the secret to achieve all there miraculous success trough their lifetime.

Now, the secret is available for you. It is hard to believe it and accept it, but that makes it so important. It is simple like a child play. Just keep on reading.

The first part of the secret is: You attract and create everything which is happening in your life. It is called The Law of Attraction.

It is difficult to accept that someone can bring himself a cancer or horrible accident, but it is a scientifically fact, proved by the quantum physics.

The power of our thoughts is enormous and goes far beyond the limits of the body. Our thoughts are like a very strong magnet attracting everything which is in synch. So we think about bad stuff like being in debt or broken relationship and more of the same is coming to us.

I know it is nearly impossible to generate a positive thought when you are surrounded by bad circumstances. But this is where the game starts. You have to comprehend that those bad circumstances, surrounding you right now have been created by you. Your negative thoughts attracted and continue to attract that bad stuff.

It is like a vicious circle or more correct a spiral going down and down. How to stop that? Reverse your thoughts. Here comes the most difficult part: Can you control your thoughts? The fact is that no one can do that, unless in possession of a super power.

How an ordinary human being can achieve that control? The answer is by watching emotions. It turns out that emotions are even easier to control and they can affect our thoughts.

Each time you catch yourself in a bad mood or negative emotion – switch to a positive one. This is the clue. You have to create a habit of switching from negative to positive emotions. Create a vision, recall an event from your life, where you have been extremely happy and call this moment each time you find your self in a bad mood or emotion.

How easy is that. Every one can do it. It takes a part of a second to make it happened.

Let\’s reveal the tree practical steps about creating your life: Step one: Before to start any World wide web Marketing session see your self as a winner. Create a vision within you. Write on a piece of paper what you want. Draw a picture, make a pic and put it on the wall in the spot you can see it easily.

Step Two: Bring it. This is not your part. It is obligation of the universe to bring to you whatever you ask for. You have no power to know how is this going to happen.

Step Three: Receive it. You have to prepare yourself for receiving what you asked for. Here comes your obligation to keep the positive emotions and thoughts in synch of what you are asking for – a profitable Internet Marketing trades.

Deep inside of you has to be absolute faith that the thing you asked for is on its way to you. You have to begin seeing it materialized and act as it is already here.

And the most important part of the game: As it is already here you have to be grateful to the Universe, Creator, God or whatever you call it, which is bringing your desire to you. This is the most powerful part to understand and apply.

If you send a thank you message to the Universe for something which is not yet materialized, then the Universe has no choice but to deliver it to you as soon as possible.

And the last part of your preparation is: Give whatever you want to be given. If you want money – begin giving away money. If you need help – start helping others.

The secret is now revealed to you. It is so easy and powerful and has been in use for ages. It is difficult to believe in it and that is what is going to separate the winners from the losers in this life.

It works for World wide web Marketing and everything else in your life. Try it and enjoy the outcome. Your life will never be the same.
