Very helpful video…thanks. One question; the youtube videos that I’m
embedding to my wordpress site are “unlisted”, so unless someone’s on my
site or has the URL, he wouldn’t be able to access them. But if someone
does get on my site, they could go into source code and get it from there.
That’s what I’m trying to prevent. Is there some add’l plugin that would
hide or scramble the specific code in the source code to keep the URL
    private/unstealable?

  6. Claude Pelanne January 18, 2012 at 2:41 pm #

@PrimeInstruction HI. I’m not aware of a plugin that will scramble the url
or better yet create a url with a time delimiter that expires the use of
the url after a certain period of time. I would check out the youtube forum
to see how you can protect your videos. Set the copyright parameters and
set up google alerts for your video to see where they are going for the
short term. You can then challenge their use if you find any abuse. I’m
going to see what i find at my end. Thanks for the comment.

claude, putting youtube videos into posts in not diffucult for some…its
    difficult for everyone.

  13. alexmcginness October 1, 2012 at 11:50 pm #

can you add text comments beside the video? If so how????

  14. Claude Pelanne October 2, 2012 at 2:12 pm #

Hi Alex- Yes you can add text into the post along with the url code for the
video. I didn’t show it in this video but you write as you normally would
and put the code where you want it. I usually start with a sub headline and
then put the video under it with the copy of the post under the video. You
can see this on my blog AffiliateStartingLine. The link is above in the
description box. Hope this helps. Great question and thanks for the comment.

Thanks. This is totally possible for you but I worked on this most of
yesterday and for three hours so far today. Its a constant proceedure of
try…nope….ahhh try….nope….ahhh try …nope. Like all things WP it
gets to the point of lets not spend another 4 months of futile effort
trying to use WP to make a simple site and use an app that might get the
job done. Ive been on WP for 4 months today, 2-9 hrsper day every day and
Im stil not on line. Theres gotta be an easier way.

Hey whaddya know…finally after hours I managed to get video on a static
page in the middle of it and text above and below. Not really what I wanted
though. I was after a series of thumbnails on the left and text to the
right of it describing the videos but as with all things WP, its a time
    consuming comprimise.

Brilliant, after hours of trying to work it out for myself – within 5 mins
of watching this, I have a video on my site, yeah! many thanks

Hi 76xcel- Thanks for the comment and glad the video helped. Enjoy.

I have tried to embed the video but its still not working any advice?

  20. Claude Pelanne February 22, 2013 at 5:40 pm #

Hi Victor – I’m assuming you’re in WordPress. Make sure you are using the
latest version of WP and that all your plugins are up to date including
Smart Youtube. You can try the embed code instead of the share url. There
could be a plugin that is conflicting with Smart YouTube. In that case
deactivate all the plugins and see if Smart Youtube works. If so turn your
plugins on one by one until you find the problem plugin. I use Smart
YouTube almost daily with no problems. Let me know what happens.

Small error here, for high def. quality it’s not adding vp as said here but
vh. Claude just skipped over the text for HD & read the additions for
    linking to playlists.
