I’ve never been a fan of this type of linking. This is what tabs and browser functionality are for. Essentially overwriting outside URLs by scraping outside content, even if there’s a clear delineation, is poor web practice, imho. It also has a number of other impacts on certain wordpress/plugin features that can cause issues. Of course, there are some heavy hitters out there that disagree with me (like digg) and are big enough to get away with it.

@PseudoKnight – how is this poor web practice? How does this impact other WP plugins? Its fully compatible w/newest versions…this plugin is simply brilliant & WP users would be smart to add it…

People are hotlinking full websites with those bars. I hope he’s not proud of that creation because it’s causing major problems right with hotlinking thieves. I have a blog that is now in two locations permanently thanks to that friggen bar. I’m working with Go Daddy to get it down – that’ll be a while, meanwhile my bandwidth is climbing because I have 25,000 photos in two locations! You can take that bar and stick it where the sun don’t shine.

You know, a lot of people work hard to create their content, and format their web sites. It is wrong for one to steal other’s work. What happened to asking for permission?
