Very few people expected that blogging could give them profits which
could encourage them to dump their regular jobs for it. However, it is
also a fact that most of the top bloggers had a humble beginning as
they did not start the blogs with the profits in mind. Nevertheless, the
blogs created by them were able to attract huge traffics which in turn
resulted in great profits for these bloggers. So what did these bloggers
do differently to make these mounds of money?

This article aims at discussing some strategies which were used by

Create a blog on a niche of interest

All the top bloggers were able to make money through their blogs
because they were passionate about it. It is very crucial to determine
on a niche which is of great interest to you and many others. This will
ensure that you have a thorough understanding of the niche of the
blog, which in result will encourage you to add quality content to your
blog which will inevitably attract people with similar interests.

Create blogs with WordPress or Blogger accounts

Most of the successful blogs can be found with WordPress or Blogger
accounts. One of the reasons for the huge popularity of these blogs is
that they are more SEO friendly and hence receive more hits and
traffic.

Always add Content and value to your visitors

Even if your intention is to commercialize the blog, make sure that the
blog has content and ads which are of value to the visitors of your
blog. A blog which is able to draw the interest of a loyal audience will
result in increased traffic, which can play a vital role in heightening
your profits.

Pay regular visits to popular blogs on the same niche

Be interested in blogs on the same niche. This will result in increased
knowledge on the niche. Leaving comments on those blogs with back
links to your blog will result in increased audience for your blog. One
must understand that almost always, higher traffic leads to more and
higher paying ads which implies more profits for you.

Try selling advice

If you have considerable experience as a successful marketer, then
you can try selling advices in the form of full consulting packages. On
the contrary, you can also sell brief advices for a relatively lower fee.
This will almost inevitably result in increased cash flow, more content
and boosted traffic.

Spread your wings by creating blogs on different niches

If you are already the proud owner of a relatively established blog,
then it is high time that you start another blog on a different niche.
Placing the ads of these blogs on the established blog can result in
traffic for those blogs as well, which in turn will earn profits for you in
the long run.

How to become a webmaster? (Part – 4)

This is the fourth part of the “how to become a webmaster” series. Okay, you have already learned what a webmaster forum is and who are the people who visit a webmaster forum. You have also learned about creating a user account in a webmaster forum. Now its time for you to familiarize the various features that are available in a webmaster forum.

There are different webmaster forums. In the same manner, there are different forum softwares as well. So, the features available in two different forums can be different. But it’s a fact that, most of the top webmaster forums like DP, NP, SP, Netbuilders etc are using the V-bulletin forum software. It’s one of the best forum software that has a lot of features in it. Okay, leave the v-bulletin thing. That’s not important for us. We are here to talk about the features in a webmaster forum. Our talks will be based on the v-bulletin forum software since most of the webmaster forums are using v-bulletin. Okay, so here we start.

After creating an account, the first thing you should be doing is to update your profile. Profile is something which others will view in order to know more about you. In the profile you can include your email address, your instant messenger ids, your website url etc. You can also mention about what you do, what are your hobbies, interests etc. For accessing the profile you should enter the user control panel. In most of the webmaster forums, it’ll be something like “user cp”. After clicking which you’ll be taken to the user control panel. Then on the left side, you’ll see an option to update your profile. You should be clicking there in order to update your profile as mentioned above.

From the user control panel you can change the password of your account as well. Once you get into the user control panel, you’ll learn everything. There is nothing much to worry, you’ll be given information regarding how to do these things ni the site itself. Just click on the various links and give whatever information you are planning to give about yourself.

Now that you have got an idea about user cp or user control panel in a webmaster forum, lets get into some more complicated things. Communicate with Twitter

Twitter is a unique kind of place, it’s another social networking location but still it’s a really excellent place to be. You can find all kinds of people on Twitter; pick a topic that you want to meet people who know that topic, like “basketball” or some other term. You can see the matches and click to see their Twitter page, click on the follow button under their picture, and you will than receive updates when they change their status.

It’s not full of tons of different types of themes or backgrounds you can use. However, you have some really cool looking themes that you can change the colors to your desire. Making you page perhaps very unique, or normal like others. Depending on what you want to do.

When you go on to find others, there is also a button that says “suggested matches”, check these out, you’ll be surprised who you may find there. Anywhere from Shaquille O’Neal, to Kevin Pollock, both the Kutchers, you know Ashton and Demi. And too many more to really name.

Looking through Twitter today, there was one post that had said the staff of Twitter had gotten to see the Phoenix Suns when they were in town, thanks to Shaq. How cool is that, really you know it happens once in a while, but it’s just neat to hear about what they are doing.

If you’re trying to get some interests going on products you have for sale. Put up your link and see if you get some more sales. Twitter is a place where you can meet people from all walks of life, and in all areas of the country. What a way to broaden your horizons.

For college students this can be a great way to get that extra information on a country they may have to do a report on. Go and look for people at that location. Get to know them and see if you can find out some information about their location, stuff that no one can find in a book. Not only will you have a unique report, you’ll impress your professor, and get a good grade.

Some people think they want to move out of a state to another state or country. Get on Twitter and find people from the area and ask about the weather, to what kind of places are in that place to have fun at. Or maybe you want to plan a special vacation, one that you can stay away from the tourist’s traps, and see things that most people don’t know about.

With a Twitter account that costs nothing to set up, you will open up new forms of communication with people who you might never meet, but could become best friends with online. Be sure that you check out the cool widgets, there is a listing of widgets that are available on the different types of operating systems. Check them out and add a widget or two.

How to become a webmaster? (Part – 2)

In the first part of our “how to become a webmaster” series, we’ve discussed about the first step that you should be taking in order to become a successful webmaster. It was about registering in webmaster forums, where you’ll be learning the basics. It is to be understood that, no one is born as an expert, people become experts after practicing what they have learned. But for practicing something, you should be first of all learning something. With nothing in your brain, you won’t get anywhere. So, as we have mentioned in the first part, the key to success is to learn the basics and then practice it. In this part we’ll be concentrating on this topic.

If you want to become a webmaster, then one of the best place where you’ll be getting the right coaching is from webmaster forums. You won’t have to spend any money for it. But you’ll have to spend something else. That’s nothing, but time. Only if you are having time to spend at webmaster forums, you’ll be learning something from there. You won’t be able to learn everything the very first day. You may have to spend days or even months. That will depend on the skills that you are with, at the moment. If you know something about webmasters and what they does, then things will be easy for you. On the other hand, if you know nothing, then it’ll take you some time to learn the basics. Again, nothing is impossible, if you are with the determination to learn it at any cost, then time is the only thing that should be with you. And you’ll learn everything in no time. No doubt about it.

So that’s it, there is no need to make any investment, there is no need to hire any personal coach to teach you things, there is no need to attend any classes neither. All you have to do is – make yourself prepared to spend some time everyday, for learning the basic things at webmaster forums. This way, in no time, you’ll be learning the basics of becoming a webmaster.

Promoting your Website through Social Media

In this day in age you need to utilize social media as a website owner if you want to reach out to the most amounts of people. Social media websites make up the highest visited websites on the internet so if you can reach out to these massive crowds then the potential for making money is endless. There are two forms of social media that every website owner should utilize at one point or another, and the sooner you implement these tactics the quicker you can build your traffic and earnings.

The first form of social media advertising is through social bookmarking websites. These websites are abundant nowadays and there are literally hundreds of them all over the internet. You don’t need to submit to all of these obviously, but you should find a list of the most visited ones and make sure you submit to them often. You’ll always get a rush traffic from them and the more viral your content is the more response you’ll find on the social media websites. The goal is to gain votes and get listed on the high traffic pages of these social media websites, which is a lot easier said then done. With many bots out there that cheat the systems it can be difficult to land a front page listing, but if you ever do then you can expect large amounts of traffic to come from them. You should generally post to social bookmarking websites every time you add a new page to your website. It takes minutes to submit a webpage to a social bookmarking website so the time investment is definitely worth the traffic you’ll receive.

The second form of social media advertising you use is a lot less crowded right now and there is also more potential for finding clients using this method. The method is video advertising and as you know websites like Youtube receive tons of traffic on a daily basis. There are hundreds of video sharing websites out there that you can submit your videos too, and although time consuming it’s worth it. Once your video is live on the video sharing website then it’s generally fine to sit there and receive traffic for months to come without having to worry about doing anything else. The more viral your video is the more traffic you’ll get leaking to your website obviously, but any video is better then no video. A lot of webmasters don’t know how to make videos so if you can do this then you already have an advantage over most webmasters. Most of us need to outsource this type of work and even though it’s costly I still find it worth the money.

Social media marketing and advertising is only becoming popular now, and if you think it’s already popular then wait to see how it is in three years. You need to implement these tactics into your website now before it becomes too late and too many people use them. There will always be room for these mediums of marketing, but once there crowded with webmasters then the potential for profit becomes lower. It’s always better being a leader then follower, so don’t want for everyone to jump on the social media bandwagon and start using the methods now before everyone else.

Widgets are basically plugins or tiny applications which can be placed on your blog’s sidebar. With the ability to add and arrange widgets at your fingertips, it’s you can get your blog to look the way you want it to be making it a personalized one indeed in no time at all.

Other than providing you with widgets of all sorts, they provide you guides on creating your own widgets to truly add a touch of personality and originality. However, too many widgets may not only cause your blog to slow down, but may end up spoiling the look of your blog as it is never advisable to have too much of a thing and this includes widgets.

How to Make Money Off Of Affiliates

How to Make Money Off Of Affiliates

Most bloggers who are blogging to make money already have some experience with affiliates most likely but for those of you who don’t an affiliate is simply someone who sells a product for someone and receives a commission. You can also get leads that pay money too and this can actually be easier in the beginning and I would recommend that if you’re new you work with getting leads rather then sales. People are more inclined to join something free then to buy something, especially off of a new blog which doesn’t have too much reputation so for the first while stick with leads. I actually wouldn’t even introduce affiliate sales or leads into your blog until at least one month after you begin it. Also it’s only one month if you post everyday if you post less frequently then give it a couple months before introducing affiliates. The last thing you want to do is bombard all your new readers with affiliate ads, instead you want to first build up a readership and then move forward with affiliate ads.

Once you’ve decided to start working with affiliates you need to decide how you’ll go about the task. Some people will make a separate page for affiliates and list them all on one page so that it’s somewhat tucked away and then only people interested in the offers will have to look through them. Other people will add banners or links into their sidebar pointing to the affiliate and then others will make a new blog post with the affiliate lead or product. I find that creating a new post for the product or lead is the best way to go about getting sales, because this way you can write a review of the product and let people know a bit about what there buying. You’ll notice you get more sales from the products and leads that you offer some guidance or knowledge on rather then just posting a banner or link.

When you’re placing links on your blog that point to affiliate URL’s you should use a cloaking plug-in so that you can make friendlier URL’s. A lot of people won’t click links if they know it’s an affiliate link and it’s easy to tell because most affiliate networks use there URL to forward you to the affiliate product. There are plug-ins for WordPress which make this simple though and a quick Google search will do the trick for finding the right plug-in. I’ve noticed on blogs where I cloak my affiliate links up to 30% more action on the links then when I simply use the affiliate link normally and when you’re dealing with money 30% is a fairly large percentage.

That’s about all you need to do in order to display your affiliate links properly so that you can maximize your profits and apart from that all you should be concerned about is making sure the affiliate banners and links you use on your blog fit in the blog. Meanings don’t promote a shoe affiliate on a hat blog, only choose affiliate leads or products that are directly involved with your niche. Also ensure you don’t overdo any affiliate ads because people will quickly become turned off from your blog if everything is an affiliate ad. You should use them sparsely throughout the blog posts to make sure you don’t come off as someone just trying to make a quick buck. People are far more inclined to buy something off of someone who has taught them stuff through the content on the blog, so make sure you continue writing solid content and mix in the affiliate ads as you go.

Twitter is one of the newer social networking pages out there. It’s free to sign up for and you should never be charged for anything on this site either. With a few different themes available you can make your own unique page, all you need to do is change those background colors to something that you like.

There are a few different ways to search for people on Twitter. You can put in the name of a friend and see if they are already registered on Twitter. Or you can look by pulling up your mailbox contacts. Invite people who you think would love Twitter, and have more followers. That’s what Twitter calls friends by the way!

You can also find people by looking at the tab that has “suggested matches”. These are the people that Twitter thinks you may enjoy following. With these types of choices you may soon be following tons of people, and they may follow you too. Not every one you choose to follow is going to follow you so don’t feel bad if it’s doesn’t happen.

Do you like to blog? Keep a blog on Twitter to keep people up to date on your daily or weekly happenings. Maybe you had something great happen to you and you feel that others on Twitter may enjoy that news put it up and post it. Or you may just like writing poetry; this is another thing that you will be able to post up on Twitter. You never know who might come to your page and see what you’ve written.

Look up a topic that you love, like “Stephen King”. Twitter will pull up others who are also interested in that topic. You can look up anything and see if there might be another who finds what you think is great to be interesting to them too. Follow them, send a message you may create a long term friendship that will last your whole life.

Also you don’t have as many flashy options as some other social networking places; it’s really not that big of a deal. In fact social networking sites are to talk to each other, not to see how many flashes and etcetera that doesn’t have anything to do with much.

Check out possibly one of the hottest social networking sites out there. Come to Twitter and see if you can find some new friends. Write blogs that will make others laugh, or just cry, depending on what you wrote. Twitter is a fantastic way to connect with other people all over the world.

You may check for those friends you lost touch with, they might be on Twitter, a nice way to reconnect with others. Another really excellent thing about Twitter is you go to a person’s page, and you can click on their followers. It’s excellent to see what other people have on their site, and you might be blown away by who you can find on Twitter.
