what in the world, this has nothing to do with wordpress. Yes I know you can do it with wordpress this way but it was just a scam to get people to watch your video.SHAME

I’m not sure what you mean. I created the video as many of my users wanted me to show them how to use FileZilla to upload a plugin for their WordPress installation.

I’m using the Filezilla FTP server as well, and I’ve been able to upload themes. But I’m having a real problem uploading plugins. I watched your video and I don’t have a “public html” folder. Instead I uploaded a plugin from my hard drive to my wp-contents/plugins folder, but it still won’t show up under my plugins in the back office of my blog. Any suggestions?

The public_html folder is just where web content is placed on this server – it may be difference on yours. I’ve never seen a plugin fail to appear – are the permissions on the plugin you uploaded correct?

Shame on you “newlifetrib9412” this is a great little video. I just wrote a blog post about installing a back up plugin for my subscribers and popped on here to get a simple video explaining the process. This is exactly what I wanted. It is only for hosted I believe.

Well done good simple video doing what it says on the tin.

Hi I cannot connect using filezilla. Where do I get the host name and the username and password.

No, you have to put WordPress on another hosting site to use plugins.

great video, and great choice of web design programs. Free web design software is difficult to find. Check out the videos on my channel such as Free Web Design Tools to see a free tutorial on several free web design tools such as firebug, html color coder and filezilla, plus several other. To learn more about WordPress plugins, check out my videos like What is a WordPress Plugin? and How To Create An Author Box In WordPress. It’ll make using WordPress a whole lot easier.
