All about SEO

SEO or search engine optimization is something you can do on your own. Learning to SEO your sites is easy and you’ll start doing it better once you gain more expertise in the field. But before you start doing SEO, you should be learning the basics. You should be learning what it means to optimize a site for search engines. You should also understand how a search engine finds and indexes a site from the millions of new sites that are created each day. And after you learn the basic things such as those which are mentioned above, you may learn the different types of methods that can be adopted to do SEO on your websites.

Why should we do SEO our sites? Google is the search engine that most of the webmasters target. So, from here on, we’ll be using the word “google” for search engines. We are doing SEO in order to rank our sites high in Google. But before ranking them, we should at least, try to index the sites in Google.

Google index sites when they come to know about a new site. But how will they come to know about a new site. Google’s crawler search for sites from one link to the other. This way, they go on looking for new sites from one site to the other. So, if you want to index your newly created website, then at least one indexed site should be linking to your website. This way, it’ll finally reach your site when it crawls the site in which your link is there. So, the key in indexing a site is to get a link to your site in other sites that are already indexed.

And after you have indexed your site, you can start doing SEO related works on your site to rank it higher in Google. But what does it mean to rank it higher in Google. Suppose your site is related to “selling Iphones”. And if your site is getting in the first page of the search results related to the keywords that you are targeting like “buy iphones”, “iphone store” etc, then your site is said to be highly ranked one, in Google.

All about whois checkers

Have you ever thought of knowing who owns a particular site? A whois checker will allow to know the details about the registrant, registrar etc of any domain name that you wish to check with it. This is a good way to contact website owners when you are planning to buy websites. By using whois checkers you’ll able to find the email address of the owner of the site. You’ll be getting this service from many whois sites out there. Almost every whois sites offer these services free of charge.

The features found in one whois checker may vary from the other. Some whois checkers will allow you to search whois information of email ids as well. So, whois checkers are not just for checking the registrant details of just websites. Some even provided ip whois checking facility. For that just enter the ip address that you want to check. And if there are sites hosted with that ip address, then the whois checker will be displaying the sites that are hosted with that ip address.

If you want to be anonymous and don’t want to allow whois checkers to display your address and other details, then you may opt for adding a whois filter while registering a domain name. Namecheap, provides this service free of charge when you register a domain name with them. They will ask you to enter your name, address and other such details but these details won’t be shown publicly through whois checkers if you are opting the above service. Instead of that, some other details will be shown – and when someone replies to the email address that is shown in the whois details, you’ll still be getting those emails to your original email id.

Why should we use an whois checker? Webmasters usually use these kinda tools when they plan to buy a promising site. Suppose you are planning to buy abc.com – what would be the first step that you’ll be taking? How will you be able to get in touch with the person whois currently owning it. It’s a pretty difficult task without using an whois checker.

Professional blogging is a very new idea with a great deal of potential for enterprising individuals who have insight, drive, and an elementary understanding of today’s innovative web technology. The amount of people that successfully use their weblogs to supplement their income, increases every day.

The amount of pro bloggers is growing by leaps and bounds, but it is difficult to say whether this fashion will continue.

Many bloggers dream of entering the arena of professional blogging. Most people who spend an hour or more each day on their blog their blog hope to earn some kind of compensation for their difficult work.

Several models exist for making money with a weblog, the most common being to sell marketing space through Google’s AdSense program or directly to a company that wishes to reach the demographic that your weblog appeals to. Not that numerous people, all the same, can earn enough of an income to live on just through marketing on their blog.

Many of the individuals who are reading weblogs are bloggers themselves because they like to follow with what other bloggers are doing with their weblogs.

Individuals who have succeeded in the world of pro blogging have only done so because of their ambition to learning, talking, and writing about blogging. Pro bloggers love to write about the art of blogging more than anything else. Professional bloggers sometimes make use of the field of blogging itself as subject material for their blogs.

Some blogs will be moderating comments and hence you won’t see your comments in those sites if you post irrelevant comments. So, before you post a comment, make sure you read the post from top to bottom. Doing so, you would be surely learning something new. And this will help you to write fresh content in your sites as well. But don’t go for copy pasting – write on your own.

Posting a relevant comment has some other benefits as well. When you post an informative comment, people will be getting a better impression about you. And this will prompt them to visit your website in return.

So, what do you think now? Will you be posting irrelevant or relevant comments? When you do things the right way, there will be always some other benefits that you’ll be getting indirectly about which you might have never been thought of.

Blog commenting can bring in a lot of one way, quality backlinks if you post comments in relevant blogs that matches the niche that you are targeting. For example, if your site is related with football, then comment in blogs related to sports and not on business blogs. And ya, don’t forget to include your website url in the space provided to do the same – I know you won’t forget that 🙂

Determining Whether a Blog Is a Good Idea for You

Video Training Unplugged
Before you even think about investing money into blogging you should take a close look at whether or not you’ll be suitable for blogging. There has been a lot of noise made about how blogging is everyone’s key to riches, but the fact remains not everyone is going to be suitable for blogging. There are plenty of factors out there that you need to weigh out in order to determine whether blogging is right for you. In this article I’m going to show you some of the questions you should be asking yourself before you go out and spend money on hosting and domains, not to mention all the other cool tools most bloggers invest in.

Do You Like Writing?

If you don’t enjoy writing then blogging won’t work for you at all. Writing is the backbone of every blog and if you aren’t willing to write content everyday then blogging is not for you. There are plenty of options out there for other types of websites that don’t require daily updates, but as a blogger if you want to be successful you need to make blog posts everyday.

Writing or Speaking?

Most people can consider themselves either a writer or a speaker. I personally consider myself a writer and I actually have lots of problems speaking in public. I get nervous when I’m speaking in public and this is normal for some people which make them good candidates for blogging. If you love to speak though, then you might want to consider starting a video website or podcasting website.

How Much Time Do You Have?

To really run a blog you’re going to need about two hours everyday and you can’t leave days out because you just don’t feel like blogging that day. You need to take it seriously as you’ll be the one paying for your hosting and domains. If you’re not going to be consistent then you’re not going to make money and you’ll be throwing money away for hosting and domains with no return. Make sure you have plenty of time each day so that you can write a blog post and build some links.

Technical Ability?

You’ll want to have some technical understanding when it comes to the computer and the internet before you start blogging. There is plenty of small things you need to do in order to have wordpress run properly and you don’t want to hire someone every time you need to do something. WordPress is one of the easiest CMS systems to use, but you need to still possess some technical ability.

Do You Like Reading?

As a blogger you need to become active on other blogs as well and if you don’t then you will fall behind the competition quickly. If you like reading blogs and commenting on what you read then you’re really looking like you’d be a great blogging candidate.

Working Ability?

You need to be ready before you even begin blogging to work hard. You should know ahead of time that blogging is a lot of work and you won’t see quick results. A lot of people neglect to mention that money isn’t found quickly in blogging and you need to invest time, sweat and a bit of money to make any sort of return.

These are only the questions I came up with off of the top of my head, there are plenty more you should ask yourself before committing any money and time to blogging. I would say that roughly 80% of everyone who starts a blog gives up after a month or less due to not seeing any instant results. It takes time to rank in the search engines and build trust between your readers so the money will come if you can pass the test. You need to build a blog with loyal readers the first few months and if you can manage to do that then the money will start rolling in. In some instances it can take weeks only before seeing money from your blog, but I don’t like giving false impressions so expect to spend six months working on your blog before seeing any results.

Do-you-want-to-be-an-Internet-Marketer

Video Training Unplugged

Do you want to be an Internet Marketer?

An Internet Marketer is one who creates websites and sells products online. For that, it is not necessary to create our own products. We can sell products that are made by others as well. But what’s in it for them? Actually we’ll be just driving sales to the sales page of the product – and if anyone orders the product from there, we’ll be getting commission that would have already been mentioned in the merchants website.

So, what we’ll be doing is that – we’ll be finding quality products that would be easy to sell without much efforts. There are millions of products our there. From those products, select the ones which you think – would be worth the time and efforts that we’ll be putting on it. Before you plan to promote a product, make sure you’ll be getting good commissions after the sales. Also, make sure that the payment will be guaranteed or not. There are a lot of affiliate sites – like CJ, clickbank etc-these are sites, where you will find some great products to promote in your sites.

The benefit of promoting products found in sites like CJ and others is that – we’ll be surely getting paid if we make a sale. That’s because we are not dealing directly with clients. We are dealing with these big companies and hence we can be assured that we’ll be getting payment at the end of the month.

But the main thing is to drive sales. And for that you should be having some kind of platform. Creating a website is the best option in front of you. It won’t take much time – you can even create a WP blog and then start promoting the products. After the site is ready, you should select products to promote in the sites. Create a lot of sites and each should be for promoting a different kind of product. In the site, you should be reviewing it as if you have already bought the product and satisfied with it. At the end of the review you can put a link which will be allowing others to go and buy the product from the authors site.

WordPress Settings

Video Training Unplugged

There are quite a few WordPress settings that you need to remember and constantly check to ensure that they are working or running properly and sometimes people forget very important settings that aren’t talked about often. Most people always understand that they need to enable plug-ins to get to them work and to change the theme and basic settings like this, but some of the most vital settings are usually overlooked by people.

One of these settings that most people often overlook is the privacy setting which is the setting that will determine whether or not you will be found by search engines. Sometimes by default this will be switched to block the search engines from accessing your blog and if you do this then you won’t be indexed or receive any search engine traffic. This setting is under the settings area in the WordPress admin section and called privacy. Make sure that it’s switched to the option that will allow search engines to crawl your site, after all the most targeted traffic comes from the search engines and you’ll need this traffic to make any money as a blogger.

The second setting is the permalink structure which is in the same row as the privacy button in the setting menu on the WordPress admin. By default the permalink structure is set to page number but you definitely don’t want this for SEO purposes and instead you’ll want to not use any of the options except for the custom option. The custom option allows you to set your own permalink structure and there are two options ideal for SEO purposes.

Either…

/%postname%/

Or

/%postname%//%category%/

Either of the two is great for SEO purposes as you should be making sure your title has your keywords in it. Using the second option might be beneficial but depending on your category names it may also not be beneficial. If you use keywords as category names then by all means use the second custom permalink option, but if you don’t then only use the post name option.

Both of these settings are important to making sure your blog is set-up properly and you should double check both of these settings if you have any doubt.
